Going to Heaven?

The greatest story of victory that anyone will ever hear is the Bible fact of salvation through Jesus Christ.  You see, Jesus loves you so much that He was willing to leave Heaven, come to earth, humble Himself as a man, suffer a horrible death on the cross, and after three days, rise from the dead so that your sins could be paid for, and so that you could have a home in Heaven when you die.  Look at what the Bible says about having a home in Heaven:

The Bible says in I John 5:13, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”  God wants you to KNOW that you will have a home in Heaven when you die!

1.  That we are SINNERS.  Simply put, “sin” is disobeying God’s commandments.  All of us have sinned.  The Bible says, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one:” (Romans 3:10), and, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23).  No one can earn a place in Heaven by living a “good” life, going to church, or by any other work he or she can do.  Sin, if not forgiven by God, will keep us from Heaven.

2.  That sin has a PAYMENT.  The Bible says, “For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23)  in Revelation 20:14, 15, the Bible says, “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.  This is the second death.  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”  The “first” death is a physical death.  The “second” death is eternally dying in Hell.  This is the payment that sin requires.

3.  JESUS PAID the PRICE for our sins.  God loves us.  God does not want anyone to have to die and go to Hell.  God made a way that our sins could be completely forgiven so that we could go to Heaven when we die.  The “Way” God made for us to enter Heaven is through His Son, Jesus Christ.  The Bible says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)  In John 3:16, the Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life..”

Jesus loved us so much that He was willing to die and shed His blood to pay for our sins so that we could go to Heaven when we die.  Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life.  He did not have to die for His sins because He didn’t have any.  He died on the cross to pay for OUR sins.  Jesus’ death on the cross was the innocent (Himself) paying for the sins of the guilty (us).

4.  JESUS is the ONLY WAY to “HEAVEN”.  Jesus said about Himself in John 14:6, “…I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Romans 10:9, 10, states, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  When Jesus died on the cross, He didn’t stay dead.  After three days, He rose from the dead.  He proved by His bodily resurrection that He wasn’t just a good man; He proved that He was Who He claimed to be–the perfect, sinless, Son of God–the Saviour of the world!

Those who go to Heaven when they die are those who have placed their faith in Jesus and Jesus alone as their only hope for Heaven.  There is no other way to have one’s sins forgiven except  through Jesus Christ.

The Bible says, “For whosover shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

Why don’t you receive Jesus and trust Him as your Saviour right now?  Bow your head and pray this prayer (or one similar):  “Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner.  I believe that I deserve to die and go to Hell.  I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the dead to pay for my sins.  Right now, I ask you to save me, forgive me, and someday when I die, to take me to Heaven.  I am trusting you, and only you as my hope for Heaven.  Thank you for saving me, Amen.”

Did you just believe and trust Jesus to save you?  Then rejoice, you have everlasting life!  John 3:36 says, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life…”  Everlasting is forever, and you have everlasting life now that you are saved!
